Summary[edit]

Description A new railroad bridge in Napa, Calif., awaits its first train June 22, 2011. It’s one of two new bridges in Napa’s Oxbow District built under the Napa River-Creek Flood Protection Project, a joint effort of the Corps, the city of Napa, and the Napa Flood Control and Water Conservation District to reduce flood risk for the city. The bridge replaces a lower adjacent railroad bridge that blocked the Napa River in high water, often causing flooding in downtown Napa. (U.S. Army Photo/Michael Nevins)
