Edwin Alansen Crawford was born ca. 1878 in either Maine or Minnesota. He died in June of 1964. He married Rachel, born 1878 in Kansas. In 1910, the Crawfords were living in Seward with Rachel's daughter by her first marriage, Josie Walton, who was born in 1891. In 1917/1918, Edwin registered for the draft for World War I. In 1920, the Crawfords were still living in Seward, and Edwin's occupation was listed as merchant. At that time, they had an adopted son who was 7 months old and born in Alaska. In 1917/1918, James Atwood Gibbs registered for the draft in World War I. He was born September 4, 1890 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, and was living in Fairbanks. William McDonald Mellish was born April 26, 1892, in Alberta, Canada. In 1917/1918, he registered for the draft in World War I, and he was living in Nenana, Alaska, at that time. In 1920, Mellish was living in the Talkeetna/Cook Inlet area and working as a timekeeper at a railroad camp. He died in October 1971 in Anchorage.
