Description

c/n 108-47452 Built for the US Army Air Corps with the serial 44-86698. Transferred to Canada in 1952 and served as a Mitchell III with the Royal Canadian Air Force until 1961, using the serial ‘5248’. She then had various private owners in Canada and the USA, flying as a tanker with G*M Aircraft between 1983 and 1997. Restored to military condition in 2001 and fitted with a solid ’12 gun’ nose. Restored again in 2013 with a high level of detail and given a glass nose. Now operated by Fagen Fighters WWII Museum and seen departing to take part in the 2015 Arsenal of Democracy Flyover to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of VE Day and the end of WW2.
