Description

c/n 02 This is the nose of the second prototype Caravelle which first flew on 6th May 1956. After trials at the CEV, it was civil registered as F-BHHI in March 1957. On 18th April it began a 69-day tour of the United States, covering over 29,700 miles in the course of 94 flights. Later used for trials work, it is known to have carried out testing for an all-weather landing system during 1965 before being retired in 1968. It was used for ground instruction until around 1979 when it was broken up with just the nose being saved. It is now on display between Halls 7 and 8 at the Musée de l'air et de l'espace. Le Bourget Airport, Paris, France.
