Coin. Nummus of Constantine II (317-340), probably Reece period 17.


Obverse description: Bust draped diademed and cuirassed right.


Obverse inscription: CONSTANTINVS IVN NOBC


Reverse description: Robed and ?diademed figure seated on disc right ?with harp - possibly Orpheus (this reporter was tempted to offer 'Nero fiddling right').


Reverse inscription: CO?NSTA [NOP]OLIS; this reading is admittedly unsatisfactory.


Cliff Reeves kindly examined this coin, offering the obverse reading, but notes the reverse type to be unfamiliar.


Diameter: 18mm, Weight: 2.55gms, die axis: 12.
