Poema de Jayme Câmara (1881-1946)

Diário da Madeira, folha independente, direção de João dos Reis Gomes (1869-1950), Funchal, 9 de outubro de 1929, ilha da Madeira

'Jaime Sanches Câmara '(Funchal, 13 mar. 1881; idem, 24 dez. 1946). Filho de António José Câmara e de Helena Celina Gomes Câmara, foi chefe da Estação Meteorológica do Funchal e ajudante de conservador do Registo Predial, tendo-se dedicado à poesia e ao jornalismo, com larga obra editada, mantendo acesas polémicas com outros poetas locais.
João dos Reis Gomes
(1869-1950), oficial de Artilharia e escritor, interessou-se, sobretudo, pelo teatro, de que recolheu um importante acervo fotográfico e bibliográfico na sua quinta a São Martinho, infelizmente, parcialmente perdido com o seu falecimento, dado se encontrar no andar térreo e a propriedade ter ficado muitos anos inabitada.
