Summary[edit]

Description
English: It is said that the Ogbunike caves were discovered by a man called ukwa, from the Umucheke family of Ifite_Ogbunike about 4000 years ago.

Legends claims that caves were created by the deity, Ogba who they believe live within. The Ogbunike caves draw much of their spiritual significance from this belief.

Behind Ogba hills in Oyi LGA in Anambra is a cave that has served for years as an escape hideout and also was a place of refuge during the Nigeria civil war, there are 317 steps that lead into the tunnel.
