Description

(1 in a multiple picture album) When one thinks of Yosemite they think of the valley where they look up at the tops of massive granite formations like Half Dome and El Capitan. But those are not the highest granite domes in the park. Drive up to the high country on Tioga Road and you will be on the summit of a larger dome, looking down on Half Dome.

Tuolumne Meadows is place where the granite is hidden under a thin layer of dirt and grass, with a few other outcropping of granite poking up. Here you really feel like you on top of the world, or at least on top of Yosemite.
