Handwritten note on leave 2 (some bits lost): April 6th 1663 a Russian Almanach of Saints

Bevelled wooden boards. Traces of 2 clasps catching on to upper cover. Combmarbled endleaves. Ink ms shelf marks u;203 7 HHL. spine damamaged. Sewn on 3 douoble sewing supports. Design on upper and lower covers differs. Upper cover probably tooled in poor quality gold or silver which has oxidised. Lower cover is blind tooled. Fore edge is painted in red and gold with a floral motif. Top and tail edges feature black motifs (including arrows?)
