Der Stollen – abgebildet ist das Mundloch – ist ein bedeutendes Fledermausquartier. Daher ist die Umgebung rund um das Mundloch zusätzlich auch noch als Natura-2000-Gebiet ausgewiesen.
English: Certainly the most curious nature reserve of Kreis Steinfurt: the „Perm Adit“ (Permer Stollen) in Osterledde, a hamlet of Laggenbeck, district of Ibbenbüren, Kreis Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. This underground nature reserve is an important bat house. Picture covers the adit mouth. The surrounding area is also a designated Site of Community Importance.
