Description

Don Robinson Moth Survey 5/5/19 Cedar Hill, MO With Kyran Leeker

Info so far on this one: Hi Chrissy, This is a Scarab beetle. You can identify them by their "flipper" looking front legs and the spines coming off the back. Their antennae are also usually clubbed with three individual pieces like the one in the photo. My best guess for a genus would be Dichotomius because of the flat head and stripes on the abdomen. If I had to guess at species, D. colonicus.

If the ID is correct, this is a dung beetle!
