Deutsch: Tübingen. Verbindungshaus der Tübinger Schwaben. Das Gebäude wurde von Ludwig Eisenlohr entworfen. Nachdem das Grundstück 1898 gekauft wurde, begann der Bau im Frühjahr 1899 und der Rohbau wurde bereits im August fertig. Das Gebäude wurde feierlich (in Anwesenheit des Königs Wilhelm II.) am 19. Mai 1900 seiner Bestimmung übergeben. Am Hang des Österbergs gibt es jetzt keine Weinberge mehr, er ist bebaut oder verwildert. Darauf gibt es Verbindungshäuser von Franconia (links) und Rhenania. Hinter dem Schwabenhaus ist auch das ehemalige Wohnhaus von Karl Marcell Heigelin sichtbar, das am frühesten von allen hier sichtbaren Gebäuden (1826) entstand. |
