Description

Moradia brasonada mandada construir em 1649 por Diogo Mendes de Vasconcelos. Importantes alterações no séc. XVIII/XIX. edifício rectangular com larga fachada de dois andares com nove janelas de sacada de ferro forjado, com frontões alternadamente curvos e rectilíneos. Riqueza decorativa no interior com azulejos. Repartição de espaços conforme a época - piso térreo utilitário, residência no andar nobre. O portal, encimado pelo escudo de armas, que dá entrada para a quinta é da segunda metade do séc. XVIII. A quinta é típica desse século, destacando-se um pequeno tanque com decoração de alvenaria e o jardim de buxo. Foi adquirido pela Câmara Municipal, funcionando aí o Serviço Sócio-Cultural, com os seguintes serviços abertos ao público: Biblioteca, Sala de Exposições Temporárias e o Posto de Turismo. <a href="http://www.cm-alter-chao.pt/" rel="nofollow">www.cm-alter-chao.pt/</a>
