Papal Bull
Description
English: A complete and clear cast lead circular papal bulla. The bulla is of Pope Gregory X (1271-76). On one face are the heads of St Peter and St Paul facing each other, with each head being surrounded by a vesica-shaped beading. Between the heads is a cross with a long foot and above is the inscription SPA SPE. The reverse of the bulla has the inscription GRE/GORIVS/.PP.X. The bulla has been fractured vertically on both faces, between the heads of St Peter and Paul and through the inscription. There is also some damage to the outer edges. The diameter is 41.2mm and the weight is 35.01g.
