Description
Español: Puerta Sur del Parque Zoológico del Centenario en Mérida, Yucatán. El pórtico pertenecía al Matadero Viejo (rastro) de la época colonial ubicado en los cruzamientos de las calles 66 y 67 de la misma ciudad y en la parte superior ostenta el escudo de la ciudad de Mérida labrado en 1720 durante el mandato del gobernador y capitán general D. Juan Joseph de Vertiz y Ontañón. El rastro fue demolido en 1940 y el pórtico fue trasladado al ahora zoológico el 24 de enero de 1942. ("El escudo de armas de la ciudad de Mérida", H.
