Photograph of a part of a Hopi Indian pueblo, including houses (Moki) and an alley, ca.1900. Most of the cube-shaped dwellings are three-stories high and use exterior ladders for accessing upper levels. They are constructed of adobe brick, and have flat roofs with exposed rafter tails. An alley runs between two pueblos to the right of center.
