Description
English: Sketch of several gunboats on a river that are firing on a town in the background. "Passing of Vicksburg by Admiral Porters U. S. Fleet. Photograph taken from and original sketch (India) by Rear Admiral Henry Walke, who commanded the U. S. Gunboat 'Lafayette' during the battle, after the passing. the original sketch with others of Walke were destroyed by fire. Gift of John H. Gundlack." (written on reverse side).
