Description
Deutsch: Kriegerdenkmal auf dem St.-Pauli-Friedhof in Dresden für Gefallene im Deutsch-Französischen Krieg 1870/71 (mit sechs Namenstafeln), gefertigt in der Werkstatt des Steinmetzmeisters Friedrich Wilhelm Höfgen nach einem Entwurf von Ludwig Theodor Choulant (1827–1900), eingeweiht am 24. August 1874, siehe [1]. Er trägt die Inschrift: "DEN DEUTSCHEN KRIEGERN DANK UND EHRENVOLLES ANDENKEN IN DEN JAHREN 1870 – 1871 DEN TOD FÜR DAS VATERLAND GESTORBENEN IN LAZARETHEN DRESDENS – OB IM FELDE OB IM LAZARETH DIE EHRE IST DAS SCHÖNSTE TODTENBETT".
