Shade shelter on the way to the top of the mesa where the quarries are located

Stop and think for a moment. What is a quarry? Today, we think of dump trucks and earth movers, hauling out tons of soil and rock. But these quarries were dug by hand, often using primitive bone tools. The Alibates Flint Quarries are small pits, worked in by a team of people.
