Summary[edit]
DescriptionPectoral of Amenemhat III (cropped & rotated).jpg |
English: A 12th dynasty Egyptian Middle Kingdom pectoral made of gold and semi-precious stones (carnelian, turquoise, and lapis lazuli) belonging to Mereret, the daughter of king Senusret III and sister of king Amenemhat III.[1] The pectoral shows the cartouche or royal name of pharaoh Amenemhat III and depicts this king triumphantly defeating his enemies. It was discovered in the Dahshur tomb of Mereret which is located within the pyramid complex of Senusret III's own tomb. This photo was taken at the King Tut exhibition at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, Washington State, USA. |
