Summary[edit]
DescriptionPectoral of Sithathor.jpg | This beautiful necklace and brooch of Princess Sithathor on display at the Ramses ll Exhibition De Young Museum at San Francisco, California, USA in 2023. Sithathor's mostly intact tomb at Dahshur, Egypt was found in 1894 and proved to contain a wide collection of outstanding scarabs, golden shells, golden bracelets, a mirror, several stone vases and this pectoral with the cartouche of pharaoh Senusret II from the powerful Twelfth Dynasty of Egypt. Sithathor is generally considered to be a daughter of Senusret II and the sister of Senusret III one of the more powerful Dynasty 12 kings in Egypt's Middle Kingdom era although this is not confirmed beyond doubt. This pectoral was made of gold, carnelian, lapis lazuli, and turquoise. Its Egyptian museum category number is JE 30862 and SR 1/7187 respectively. |
