Title
Perforated Seal Matrix
Description
English: A lead seal matrix in the form of a pointed oval (vesica). Item has been pierced twice in the legend area, once between the cross at the apex of the matrix and the apostrophe preceding the R, and once between the second R and the V (roughly diagonaly opposite the first perforation).
Back shows no sign of any form of suspension loop; the two perforations may have been used for this, or to affix the piece to some form of handle.

Central device is a sword, point uppermost, with the "blade" consisting of a sprig of foliage (possibly a flowering lily).
