DescriptionPhilostratus kódex díszoldal.jpg	Magyar: A Philostratus-kódex: (cod. lat. 417.) a Corvina könyvtár leggazdagabban díszített kódexei közé tartozik. Egyedülállóan fontos mű: a fordítás, az ajánlás, maga a pompás díszkódex teljes egészében, az első betűtől az utolsó ecsetvonásig Mátyás király számára jött létre. A műveket – Philostratus (Kr. u. 3. sz.) athéni szofista és unokaöccse munkáit – Antonio Bonfini udvari történetíró fordította le görög eredetiből latinra, 1487 tavaszán: az előszó Bécsújhely elfoglalása (1487. augusztus 14.) után íródott. A kódex festett dísze ezt követően, Firenzében készült, Boccardino il Vecchio műhelyében, de a kötet még Mátyás halála előtt visszajutott Budára. Fatáblás, részben aranyozott bőrkötésére azonban már az utód, II. Ulászló címere került.
