Ships at dock include the steamboat LA CONNER of Seattle and the four masted sailing vessel JOHN C. MEYER of San Francisco (built 1902).

Pier 57 (originally Pier 6) was built in 1902 for the John B. Agen Company and significantly lengthened in 1903. In 1909 the pier was bought by the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway Company (the "Milwaukee Road") and Agen moved to a new facility.
