Notes Part of the Charles Ramsden Collection of Signed Bindings. Macchi states; Paris, bound by F. R. Ledoux. Quoted in the 1826-1838 Almanachs and may have worked earlier. Capable of excellent work. The following were his addresses: Bertin Poirée 6 (1826), Bac 134 (1832), Grenelle-Saint-Germain 126 (1835). One of his bindings is reproduced in Béraldi's Estampes et Livres (H. Béraldi, La reliure, I, p. 40, footmark1; Bibliotheca Wittockiana, Relieurs et reliures, 1995, p. 524; J. Fléty, Dictionnaire, p. 108; C. Ramsden, French Bookbinders, p. 123).
