Summary[edit]

Description
English: Polylithionite, Catapleiite
Field of view: ~ 1.5 X 1.3 cm
Locality: Poudrette quarry (De-Mix quarry; Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Carrière Mont Saint-Hilaire; MSH), Mont Saint-Hilaire, La Vallée-du-Richelieu RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
Description: Found May 1996. The transparent hex plates on the tan are polylithionite. The tan needles are may be secondary aegirine, but they looks as if they are coated by rhabdophane-(Ce). The black stuff is primary aegirine. There is also genthelvite and (recognizeable) rhabdophane-(Ce), but they are not in the photo. The catapleiite is the tan rosettes on the bottom - ut it looks altered. (Somewhat similar material from another pegmatite was found to be replaced by rhabdophane-(Ce) or monazite-(Ce) via "quick & dirty" EDS, which cannot distinguish these two species. But this material t has not been analyzed.)
Deutsch: Polylithionit, Katapleiit
Sichtfeld: ~ 1,5 X 1,3 cm
