Description |
English: The origins of Denny Blaine Park are linked to the promotion of real estate undertaken by Elbert F. Blaine and Charles L. Denny. By creating attractive parks and supporting the trolley or cable car lines to bring people to them, these men typified the enterprising spirit. Blaine was also Park Commissioner from 1902-1908. The two men named their subdivision at the head of a ravine above Madrona Park Denny Blaine Lake Park in 1901. The fountain in the center of the pool was named Minerva Fountain in honor of Mr. Baline's wife, Minerva Stone Blaine. Handwritten on sleeve: Denny Blaine Park Pool.
