English: "Portrait of a lady of high nobility Marquise or Duchess ** very elegant, with a gentle face, wearing pearl earrings in drops, styled in Fontanges with a beaded finery. Leaning on the arm of a Louis XIV upholstered armchair, she is dressed in a sumptuous burgundy red dress with scalloped fine lace surrounding the neckline and a blue coat with flecks of ermine speckled. ** Blue and ermine are clothing signifiers of the high nobility close to the Royal Court. Jewels adorn the upper left arm of her dress, the bottom of the sleeves with gold braid leaves each arm uncovered in two rows of puffy lace."
