Description |
English: Portsmouth Point Old Portsmouth is seen across Portsmouth Harbour from the west, with the Round Tower and the entrance to the harbour on the right. Beyond the two sailing boats is the Tower House, the Wyllies' home from 1906. Wyllie has painted this watercolour on wet paper stretched on his pinboard, the holes made by the pins visible all around the edge of the thin paper. The two horizontal ruled lines are to guide the mount maker or framer, or it may have been the intention for the paper to be cut down. |
