Description

Portugal dos Pequenitos pode-se definir como "uma nação ao mesmo tempo imensa e minúscula, obra prima da arte e de gosto, síntese do Portugal arquitectural e folclórico".

Obra de grande mérito idealizada e construída pelo Professor Dr. Bissaya Barreto, com a colaboração de um grande vulto da arquitectura portuguesa que foi o responsável pelo projecto - Cassiano Branco. É o percursor dos parques temáticos hoje existentes e dedicados às crianças. A escala da sua construção é feita à medida das crianças que aprendem brincando. O autor pretendeu fazer ali a apologia do Império Colonial. Esta razão política contribuiu para a sua construção. É hoje o monumento com maior número de visitantes na cidade de Coimbra.
