Description
English: IOW2018-7-A clipped and worn post-Medieval silver penny (possibly) of Charles I (1625-1649), dating to the period 1625-1649. Initial mark: illegible. Inner circle on obverse (North 1991: 162-163).

Obverse: [CA]ROL[VS D G M B F ET HI REX]; Crowned bust left with I (mark of value) behind head.

Reverse: IVSTITIA THRONVM FIR[MAT] (Justice strengthens the throne); Garnished oval shield.

Diameter: 15.0mm. Weight: 0.78g. DA=12:6.
