Title
Post-Medieval jetton : Anonymouse stock issue 'Lion of St Mark'
Description
English: A Post Medieval (1500-70) rather worn copper alloy 'Lion of St Mark' Nuremberg jetton. It is probably an annonymous issue, although both legends are too worn to read.

The obverse shows a nimbate lion of St Mark facing left and holding a book, with his halo within the inner circle.
The reverse shows a normal orb with a cross patty on top, in a three arched tressure.

Cf. Mitchiner pp.360-1, section 3.
