Title
Post-medieval double-loop asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: A copper-alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle of suggested late 16th to late 17th/early 18th century date (see Whitehead, 1996, p. 90).

The buckle has one vertical side and parallel long sides which taper towards the rounded end. At the centre is a broken axis bar of thin, circular section, which has attached iron corrosion, presumably from the otherwise missing pin. The upper surfaces of the frame slope downwards and outwards and have bevelled inner edges. The underside of the buckle is flat. The surfaces retains traces of silvering or tinning.

The buckle measures 25.3mm long, 18.2mm wide and 1.5mm thick. The weight is 1.85g.
