Title
Post-medieval double-looped asymmetrical buckle frame
Description
English: A corroded and bent cast asymmetrical double-looped buckle frame of post-medieval date. This example is incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. One loop of the buckle is D-shaped, the other is sub-trapezoidal. The former features a centrally protruding moulded knop on its outer edge. The lower surface of the buckle is flat and undecorated. By contrast, the upper surface features deeply cut decoration which forms moulded ridges, other than the pin bar. The buckle has corroded to a mid-/dark-green colour. The artefact is significantly bent in profile with the trapezoidal loop twisted. Similar examples can be found illustrated in Whitehead (1996, 92).
