Title
Post-medieval mount
Description
English: A post medieval 1500 1800 AD copper hammered square angular mount. The mount is square with bevelled edges and a hollowed reverse. It has four lozenge-shaped or kite-shaped panels in relief, each with two long edges and two short. These panels are decorated with a line of dots along each edge and radiate away from a central raised boss. On the reverse of the boss there appears to be a scar, perhaps where a separate rivet was soldered on. The mount is hammered or pressed out of a piece of very thin copper sheet, perhaps by machine; the decoration is visible in negative on the reverse. The mount is 16.00mm square, is 2.43mm thick (includes raised section) and is 0.60g in weight.

The size and construction of this mount is very similar to the common cross-crosslet mounts of uncertain but probably modern date; see, for example, PUBLIC-2E55D5.
