Title
Post Medieval - Shoe Buckle
Description
English: This is a late 18th century square cornered, decorated shoe buckle. The frame is drilled for the central bar which is now missing as is around 25% of the frame. The decoration consists of simple beaded rows to the inner and outer edge of the facing surface and the frame is much curved. It therefore fits into the Artois style of the late 18th century. The frame has bright green/blue corrosion but may have been silver plated in use.
