Title
Post Medieval clay pipe fragments (profile).
Description
English: A fragment of moulded clay pipe bowl and a fragment of a stem and heel, probably from the same pipe. The wall of the bowl is convex and the rim and heel is missing therefore there isn’t a full profile. There is no indication of decoration. The stem is thick at the junction with the bowl and heel and gradually tapers towards the mouthpiece. Only a short portion of the stem remains. The heel is oval in plan and is not decorated. The bow and stem fragments is made from white clay. The exterior of both fragments is discoloured with a mottled grey colour. Together they weigh 9.9g. These fragments probably date to c. 1680 to 1800.
