Post Medieval clay tobaccco pipe with maker's mark
Description
English: A clay pipe bowl. A Bristol and Wiltshire" type bowl which is gently curved and outward leaning. It is narrow waisted and slightly bulbous at the top, the line of which is parallel with the stem. It is milled around the rim of the bowl. The heel is flat and sub-circular with a stamped maker's mark comprising the incuse letters RIC/HARD/BVT. The stem has a wide bore (3.5 mm).

Weight:6.5 g
No direct parallel for this was found in the published types for Dorset, but there was a 17th century maker called George Butt and Richard could be a maker of the same family.
