Title
Post Medieval silver bodkin
Description
English: A Post Medieval silver fragment of a bodkin, dating to the 17th century. The bodkin is broken across the rectangular eye and the pointed end is broken and missing. The remaining length of pin has a rectangular section, part of the long rectangular perforation, a collar and then a suspension hole probably for a pendant and finally a scoop-shaped terminal. Both sides of the pin are decorated with a pattern. The decoration starts just below the collar and covers the surface between the eye and the collar and both sides around the eye. The pattern is obscured by damage but it appears similar on both sides.

As the bodkin is greater than 300 years old and is more than 10% silver it fulfils the requirements of the Treasure Act 1996.
