Description |
English: Cast copper alloy trapezoidal shoe or knee buckle with drilled frame for a seperate spindle. The spindle is missing but some iron corrosion remains. The hollowed pin-rests at either end of the buckle are flanked by two raised transverse lines. Bifid sides with moulded bifid knop level with the spindle holes. Light green-grey patina. Length 32.40mm, width 22.90mm, thickness 4.34mm, weight 6.03g. Two similar buckles are published in Whitehead 1996, no.s 618 & 619. |
