Post medieval lace chape
Description
English: An early post medieval copper alloy lace tag. It is made from a rolled sheet of alloy; the longitudinal seam overlaps and the narrow end's seem has been shaped and hammered so its almost invisible. The outer surface of the chape is decorated with a raised lattice with flowers pattern. The lace tag has retained its brassy colour with patches of red corrosion. It measures 42.7mm (length) x 7.8mm (diameter) and weighs 0.64g.
