Post medieval shoe buckle fragment
Description
English: Part of a copper alloy 18th century shoe buckle. The bar has a curved edge and a projection on one end pointing away from the pin. The matching projection on the other end of the bar is missing. There is a pin constriction where the pin hinges onto the bar. The pin has a short section that is circular in cross section and has two ridges running around the outside. The pin then splits into two sections to form a narrow 'U' shape. One section terminates in a blunt point and the other is broken. The buckle frame is missing. Length 25mm, width 20mm, thickness 2mm.
