Title
Post medieval shoe or knee buckle frame
Description
English: Post medieval buckle; cast copper alloy sub-annular shoe/knee buckle frame, drilled to hold a separate spindle. This type of buckle dates to the period c.1660-1720. The buckle frame is oval and moulded with transverse lines and grooves, including a roundel to either side. There are little holes drilled into the inner sides to hold the pin bar, which may have been of iron as there is rust-coloured corrosion around the holes.

Length 26.5mm, width 21.8mm, thickness 3.7mm, weight 3.96g
