Description
Français : Préfiguration de la Couche Limite par Barré de Saint-Venant, en 1888 : Le schéma indique la "distribution des vitesses" (ainsi nommée par Saint-Venant) dans ce qui peut être considéré comme un concept précurseur de la Couche limite. L'erreur de Saint-Venant est de ne pas adopter la condition de non glissement du fluide à la surface du corps (vitesse Vr = DF).
English: Foreshadowing of the Limit Layer by Barré de Saint-Venant, in 1888: The diagram indicates the "distribution of velocity" (so called by Saint-Venant) in what can be considered a precursor concept of the Boundary Layer. The error of Saint-Venant is not to adopt the condition of non-slip of the fluid at the surface of the body (velocity Vr = DF).
