Notes Photograph of Rifleman 24-327 Geoffrey Crawcour Wilson, 3rd New Zealand Rifle Brigade, WW1 Rifleman 24-327 Geoffrey Crawcour Wilson was killed in action in France on 12.10.1917, aged 23 years. He is buried at Poelcapelle British Cemetery, Langemark-Poelkapelle, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium Served- Egyptian (1915-16); Egyptian E.F. (1916); Western European (1916-17) English-born Geoffrey C Wilson was farming at Rotokohu when he signed up (28 May 1915) aged 22 years. He left New Zealand with the 7th Reinforcements aboard SS Maunganui on 9 October 1915, disembarking at Suez on 18 November 1915. He then took part in the Egyptian Campaign before proceeding to the Western Front. Rifleman Geoffrey Wilson was twice wounded and was finally killed in action on 12 October 1917 at Passchendaele.
