Notes | jigsaw puzzle- The Puzzle of Europe - Put Europe Together Again, WW2 Jigsaw puzzle made in New Zealand, belonged to family of Kathleen Old. Kathleen received this jigsaw as a gift during WW2. She was about 12 years old at the time and recalls being disappointed with her gift. At the time she lived with her family at Muriwai Beach. Her father was in the Mounted Home Guard and did training sessions on Sunday afternoons. He had some contact with US servicemen stationed at Muriwai. Kathleen says that the Puriri tree at Muriwai Beach had a lump cut out of it to let army trucks through - the cut is still visible (2002) | |||||||||||||||||||||||
