Summary[edit]

Description

First look around Rugeley Trent Valley Station. Between platforms 2 and 1 (the exit is near platform 1).

Platforms 1 and 2 (and the through lines between) are used by the West Coast Mainline (Trent Valley Line). Stopping trains by London Midland. Virgin Trains passes here at 125mph non stop on the lines between the north and London Euston.

Rugeley Trent Valley is a railway station located on the outskirts of Rugeley in Staffordshire, England. It is one of two stations serving Rugeley, the other being Rugeley Town. The Trent Valley station is within the Colton parish, on the opposite side of the River Trent from the town of Rugeley. London Midland operates the station, and all trains serving it; a passenger-operated self-service ticket machine has been placed at the station entrance (which is on the southbound (Rugby-bound) platform).

It is a minor station on the Trent Valley section of the West Coast Main Line. It is also the junction with the Chase Line from Birmingham and Walsall.

The view towards Rugeley Power Stations.

The Rugeley power stations were a series of two coal-fired power stations located on the River Trent at Rugeley in Staffordshire. The first power station on the site, Rugeley A power station was opened in 1961, but has since been closed and demolished. Rugeley B power station was commissioned in 1970 and closed on 8 June 2016. It had an output of 1,000 megawatts (MW) and had a 400 kilovolt (kV) connection to the national grid. The B station provided enough electricity to power roughly half a million homes.
