Rate of Molecular Evolution (m vs. Date of Divergence in Millions of Years Ago) of the C5orf24 protein (NP_001129058.1) compared to Cytochrome C (NP_061820.1) and Fibrinogen Alpha (NP_000499.1)
Summary
[edit]DescriptionRate of Molecular Evolution of the C5orf24 Protein Compared to Cytochrome C and Fibrinogen alpha.jpg |
English: C5orf24 m values (corrected sequence divergence) compared to those of Cytochrome C (slow rate of evolution) and Fibrinogen alpha (fast rate of evolution) to predict how quickly the C5orf24 protein evolves using NCBI Protein BLAST. Cytochrome C was used for more distant orthologs (amphibians and fishes) diverging from humans 352 – 465 millions of years ago while Fibrinogen alpha was used for more recent orthologs (mammals, birds, and reptiles) diverging from humans 89-318 millions of years ago. The m values were calculated by performing 100*(-LN (Percent Identity) for human, guinea pig, polar bear, platypus, kakapo, green sea turtle, two-lined caecilian, tropical clawed frog, northern pike, small-spotted catshark, and thorny skate (in order of increasing millions of years of divergence). Note dates of divergence were gathered from the resource TimeTree. |
