I have decided to begin learning how to properly light a scene. Can't spend the money for professional lights, so I've been building a small DIY light setup in my room. I placed different random subjects against my bed sheet and really liked the way this cloth looks against it. For me this scene has a very historical look to it - a little red cloth left somewhere in a medieval castle. Maybe it is because the warm white lights I used make it look as if the scene were lit by a candles, but I am not entirely sure. Took 3 exposures (+/- 1 EV) and merged with Nik's HDR Effex Pro 2, then sharpened a bit with RawTherapee 5.2. Probably the HDR step is unnecessary since this scene has a low dynamic range which should be possible to capture with a single exposure. Did so anyway as part of my learning process. |
