Português: A Corte Especial do Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ) iniciou, nesta quarta-feira (1º), o julgamento do Recurso Especial 1.795.982, em que se discute a possibilidade de aplicar a taxa Selic para a correção de dívidas civis, em detrimento do modelo de correção monetária somada aos juros de mora. O relator do processo, ministro Luis Felipe Salomão, votou contra a utilização da Selic nesses casos.
Para ele, a taxa Selic não se revela adequada para ser utilizada com fins de correção monetária e juros de mora nas dívidas civis – como na indenização por danos morais, caso do recurso em julgamento.
